'Krautrock' is the latest journey from Brooklyn experimental rock band Think Tank. The band once again finds themselves taking a sharp left turn from their previous material (in this case the twenty-three minute audio/visual odyssey 'lid') and reinventing their sound yet again. 'Krautrock' is focused and refined, embracing maximalist tendencies with a more straight forward song structure. Swirling layers of guitar perfectly compliment singer/cellist Josie Sedgwick's frantic vocals all while keeping an underlying infectious groove.

‘Lead Head Fred’ is the newest recording from Boston’s self proclaimed post-whatever outfit Idle Pilot. While the band’s previous material usually stayed safely within the post-hardcore/math-rock boundaries, this new song sees the group slowing things down and focusing more on storytelling and mood creation. Initially beginning with soft spoken word over a somber guitar track the song soon slips into a more unsettling section with guitarist/singer Alex Miller’s vocals becoming manic and urgent with equally frantic instrumentation underneath. As the story reaches it’s climax the song culminates into an explosion of noise only to finally settle down again.
Recorded by Paul Poremski at UMass Lowell.
Additional recording, mixing, and mastering by Dereck Blackburn at Quiethouse Recording.
